Is that time of the year again where our kids have a whooole week without school and us, as parents haven't even thought of what to do or where to take them - They don't just want to sit at home watching TV all day, you know? (We're sure many of you have heard this statement before) - So, to be awarded the mum or dad of this half term, we have compiled our Top 6 things to do this October school break.

1. Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park
Haven't you been to the QEOP yet? Wow! We totally recommend it.
This is the newest park in London. With 560 acres of parklands there is sooo much to explore. To help you make the most of this experience, there are four different trails : Discover the Park with its different varieties of flowers, plants and wildlife, London 2012 trail, the Children's trail will have the kids super entertain with their "Explorer's guide to Adventures in the Park" where they will have different tasks and "secret missions" to encourage the young ones to explore and interact with the park in a fun and exciting way and the Art trail where artworks from established and emerging artists from all over the world integrate with the landscape.
There are other arts and crafts sessions happening this half term like mask- masking, pumpkin carving and a spooky Halloween party.
Also the Tumbling Bay Playground is a must! Sooo cool! We guarantee the kids will love this (and let's face it, you will too).

2. Boo at the Zoo
ZSL London Zoo will be hosting a fun week of spooky goings on this Halloween half term offering its visitors a packed week of ghoulish animal treats that will see them howling with delight as they get close and personal with some of the scariest creatures. You will have to complete some rather terrifying tasks to gain your stamps for the activity passport so be sure to put an extra brave face!

3. Snot, Sick and Scabs
If you have ever wondered what snot, sick and scabs are made of, why cheesy feet smell so stinky or how your body fights off those microscopic monsters when they manage to invade you, then this is the show for you!
(Note this show is only running this Wednesday 29th October so be quick as you'll need to book your tickets! More info here )

4. Vicious Vampires, Microscopic Monsters and Deadly Deseases
Discover how vampire bats are able to suck blood, how many teeth a werewolf has and how Dr. Frankestein could create a monster out of cells.
(Show running Wednesday 29th- Friday 31st Oct. More info here)

5. The Ragged GHOUL Museum
The Ragged School Museum in Mile End becomes the Ragged GHOUL Museum this half term (Wed 29th and Thurs 30th October)with Halloween themed arts and crafts, face painting and dressing up. Admissions are free. Just turn up with your pumpkin and get the carving starting!
(These activities are aimed for primary school kids although everyone welcome).Open 10-5pm

6. Trick or Treat
Yes, you gotta do it! You know how your kids love dressing up and if it involves sweets... Well, you know the answer.
So, get your scary outfit together (have a look at our top Halloween costumes for some inspiration) and enjoy trick or treating with them. Just watch out for the Man with the sack!
